2/16/09 Rob Balducci Lick Of The Week-Cornford MK5011, Maxon AD 999pro, Xotic BB preamp

Hey ya... How are you all doing. This new LOTW I wanted to share with you a little bit of what I am using to get my tone. I always find this an interesting topic and I am always into finding out what other players are using.

I am using my Ibanez Violet Horizon RG with an ash body and a maple neck, I have a wilkisnon bar on this one as well with schaller locking tuners. I am running it into a Xotic bb pre-amp and then right into the Cornford MK 5011 head and into a Cornford 4 x 12 cab with vintage 30's in it. I also having running through the effects loop the new Maxon Ad999 pro delay.

This delay is so warm sounding and it lets you get analog delay at up to 900 mil sec and still retain that warm tone. It is by far the best delay I have played.. and I am into delay lol... Of course I am using the Xotic BB pre amp it is awesome as well.. does not ruin the tone of my Cornford just enhances the tone of the amp and the guitar and gives me a little push for some extra sustain and feedback!!
This is a improvised LOTW and was not planned as usual. I like to just hit record on my little cannon and just go!
I hope you guys dig this and I would check out all of these products if you have a chance... you cannot go wrong!!!

Does the MK50 II have more gain than the RK 100?

It'd be cool if you made a demo of the amp. There isn't one on youtube and it's so cool.

hey Rob, just wanted to ask about the pickups, you've got something different than a steve special in the bridge(cause it doesn't seem to be put in reverse), what are the single and neck hum? cheers mate

Hey ! awsome sound, just a quick question, do the schaller locking tuning heads do a really good job of keeping your guitar in tune, or is it still possible for your guitar to go out of tune even when they are locked???

hey rob, awsome rig man. i love to put two delays in at about 350 ms and the other at 500 ms, always gets me a huge warm delay sound. ive been looking at getting a wilkinson bridge + sperzel locking tuners for custom strat. im just wondering if it will do me justice and stay in tune, seems like you beat the shit out of it lol, does it stay in tune? is it reliable? plz get back to me, thx alot bro. rock on

Hey ya! Rob... did I already miss you at the Music Zoo? Or are you going to be there soon? I can't make it to BB King's on Tuesday (visiting my folks out of state). Ive never used one but it sounds great and seems like it works great without going out of tune.
