  • Cool, you're not using the Syllabary in the video lessons?

  • @RoyalKnightVIII its better to learn the language to speak it and then learn to read it.....its easier to learn it that way...just like kids learn to speak before reading :)

  • In oklahoma we do not use sh.... we use s sound. we say sio, tahija. I have never heard shio before. Please tell me is the syllabary you use different from the one we used in school in Oklahoma? I will do some research as well.

  • @MosheTortomasi This is not Western dialect,....there are many different Cherokee dialects...not just one.

That's why it sounds different. There's Eastern, Western, Snowbird, Kituwah and I think there's one or more also. It's important to keep the language alive, but that means not just one dialect, but all. Most people don't know there's more dialects so its understandable :) Oklahoma uses Western.

  • Looking for help with cherokee, but eastern. teaching my 2 year old but never knew much myself as my mother failed to keep us in touch with our culture! anybody who can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

  • @ThruTheEyeOfTheStorm go to the user Tsasuyeda and watch her videos...she has better language videos than I do.
