My sister has trauma-induced mental disabilities, and people have made fun of her since it happened.

I figure they don't have anything better to do, which is quite pathetic. Fortunately, her disability is so advanced she rarely notices it. But there are times when she does, and it makes her really upset.

They're more pitiful than she is any day.

Ill tell you what. I work in a day care. and some how a three year old got a hold of a penny and swallowed it. I was so relieved that she didnt choke on it. as soon as I found out about it I started to panic and I immediatly called the mother in .. she tooke her immediatly to the doctor and luckily the doctor said everything was ok and that it would pass through... I was counting my lucky stars that day.

I agree with all these comments, they treat mental people like they're from a different planet. I have a mental kid at my school and they treat him horrible just because hes mentally challenged. Its horrible

Something like this happened to me.

When I was a young lad, I had a cup of coins and for some reason I kept putting the coins in mouth and spitting them back into the cup repeatedly but then I accidentally swallowed one.

At the hospital, they tried to make me vomit it out into a bowl but the coin wasn't there.

It was kind of cool to see where the coin was throught the X-Ray.

I am with you and I understand how you feel. I had worked with physically and mentally handicapped children for three years and I have learned that they are just as smart and as capable of doing things as anyone else
