My Hero [Chapter 2]

[Nick POV]
Today was JoJo's birthday. Her sweet 16. Seems like just yesterday we were in elementary school together. I know I have to make this birthday special for her. But how? How do I make my best friend's sweet 16 one she will never forget. I was sitting on the kitchen table contemplating what I was going to do when Kevin came and interrupted my thoughts.

"Hey. Why so serious?" he asked as he took a seat next to me.
"no reason. Just thinking" I said trying to hide the fact that I'm a nervous wreck.
"is it about JoJo huh" its as if he can read my mind. He has a way of ALWAYS knowing what's going on in my head. Its kind of creepy.
"what are you talking about" I say trying to make him sound crazy.
"I know you love her. More than a friend. Stop acting dumb" I sighed in defeat. He was right. I love the girl.
"I don't know what to do"
"just tell her how you feel. What do you have to lose?"
I loved my brother. He's a smart guy but this time he's kind of dumb.
"um oh I don't know...our friendship!" I said loudly as Joe walked in heading for the fridge as usual.
"who's friendship?" he asked.
"nick is in love with JoJo and I told him to tell her already." Kevin said.
" yeah well thanks for just telling everyone my business" Joe stood there staring at me with a huge smile. "what?" I asked him
" awwwwww little nicky and JC!" He said teasing as he walked up to me and pinched my cheek.
"shut up Joe." I hate it when they tease me.
"Dude its kind of obvious you love her." I got nervous. Do I really make it obvious. Have I been acting like a complete idiot lately? Then JoJo walked into the kitchen. She looked beautiful.
"well hellooo JC" Joe said walking up to her and wrapping his arm around her. "you look great! HUH NICK!" He said looking over at me with his stupid smile. I glared at him.
"yeah. You look great" I said trying not to seem so obvious.

Jocelyn's POV
When I walked into the kitchen I could tell I came into one of those very secret special brother talks. It became dead silent and Joe walked over to me complimenting my look. He's such a dork. Total sweetheart. I saw nick kind of staring at me blankly for a while. There was something up. Nick has been weird lately. He seems more distance. Like something is on his mind. But I'll talk to him about it later. I mean he'll tell me what's wrong right? We are best friends. I don't think I've ever hidden anything from him before. He must know that I'll be there for him through anything. it's the least I can do for everything he's done for me. My mom is a total business junkie and is constantly gone on business trips. that's why I'm so close to the Jonas family. I even have my own room in their house for when my mom is gone! Thank goodness Mrs. J is my moms best friend. Leave it up to my mom to be on business trip on my birthday.

We all went out to breakfast and it was great as usual. Ma and Pa which is what I call Mr. and Mrs. J made me the most beautiful frame with tons of pictures of me from my dance recitals. Oh yeah I'm a dancer. A "prima ballerina" according to Joe. Its my life. I live, breath and practically eat it! Ma and Pa were always front row center with a video camera in hand at all of my recitals. They were my #1 fans.

Kevin gave me a $100 dollar gift card to my favorite dance store. He's the gift card king. I just see it as an easy way out. But I love him none the less. Frankie made me the coolest hand made birthday card that I have ever seen. Then again I say that every year. Joe being the big joker he is gave me a box and when I opened it some stuff came flying out. Of course he burst out laughing while I gave him a death glare.

"what?" he said shrugging his shoulder innocently. "I got you a real present" he handed me a small box.

I hesitantly opened it. My eyes grew wide and I looked up at him. "no way" I said in disbelief.

"I told you I'd give it to you when you turn 16." I looked back down and then back up at joe with tears in my eyes.

"thanks joey" I said giving him a hug. [AN: youre not gonna know what it is till later =P] suddenly everyone looked over at nick expecting him to give me a gift.

He looked up and turned red when he noticed everyone staring at him. "um. I'm giving mine to her later" I noticed Kevin and Joe look at each other and smile. that's it something is up and I want to know what.

I AM SOOOOOO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING FOR LIKE 3 DAYS!!! I've been soooo busy its not even funny. Too many things to say but I promise I'll try and make up for it today. Hopefully you guys like this story cuz I'm kind of in a rut with WHO KNEW so I think I'm gonna write this one for a while so I can think of some ideas for WHO KNEW. Thank you guys soooo much! SORRY AGAIN!
