Okay, read about the incompatibility problem, still, good idea about using the extra air movement from an external fan to go about troubleshooting.

Good job of thermal troubleshooting by using the box fan!

the amd 7 series chipsets with ati graphics adapter built-in works really great....

Thanks for that - what DVB-S card is it?

I know this is an old vid but still. Why not switch the GPU and the TVTuner with each other? That way the GPU is on the bottom and the fan isn't blocked?
In your case that may be flush with the bottom of the case but in most Mini ATX cases the mobo will sit flat with the ground and then there will be vents on the sides (right next to the gpu fat)

Well, it turned out to be a motherboard compatability problem, not a heat problem. This fix that I showed only hade the system lock up less. But to answer your question, the tuner card cannot plug into the pic express slot, which the gpu is in and vice versa. Two different slot type that don't cross.

this is common sense man, and intergrated video isnt very powerfull, and cant be upgraded, so your stuck with it, that video card being close to your tv tuner card would have been fine if you had good ventilation in your case, two exhaust in the back and one intake in the front, then your case will be cool.

Yes, you are right. I later found out that it was not a thermal problem at all, but a hardware one. Maybe I should delete this video all together

Sorry, typo. My card is a pvr 500 from haupauge, not a 150

It's actually an analog card. The haupauge pvr150. Has two analog tuners on it and mpeg encoders. Saves my cpu from the load of converting
