PART 1- This is a fun detailed visual of the beginning steps taken to creating an authentic papier-mache party pinata. The great thing about papier-mache is that once dry, it breaks. Imagine that a pinata that is made to break. LOL! Not like those generic party store pinatas that are made from corrugated cardboard that never seem to break.

Stop by my blog site (CoolPartyBlog.com) to see other character pinatas that I have created from papier-mache.

  • The plain newsprint is utilized as the top most layer because it is like a blank white canvas that the tissue paper can go over. Because tissue paper is so thin you can see what lies underneath it, this being the reason I choose to use plain newsprint. If you don't mind the possibility of seeing black newspaper ink, pictures and content showing through the tissue paper fringe, then you don't need to use plain newsprint. It is really just a preference. Hope this helps :o)

  • can I use only newspaper???? what is the job for the plain newsprint?????
