what size is the SL? looks as if tractors struggling a bit, we have an 8430 and an 8530. next door neighbour has a 430hp challenger and he struggles 2 pull his SL600.

The SL is a 5m version and has covered about 2400 acres this year on the 8530 but the tractor is simply not big enough for the machine. Its only 'on top' of the job about 20% of the time. We cant run the tines are full depth. An ideal match would be a 4m version on the 8530 and I think the 5m version needs 400hp pn tracks to make it work properly at the correct forward speed needed to get a good mix.

Its a 5m SL with the tines running at 7-8 inches and its killing the 8530. In that field which is quite heavy clay soil we we used 8.50 litres per acre which is ridiculous. I think a 4m towing a trailed press would be a better match. I think were going to have to up the hp a bit for next year as were not getting enough output.
