God, this is hard to learn, but when you get it that howl of 'YES' is worth it.

I just don't see how it's physically possible... it doesn't seem possible to hold down the middle three strings with your ring finger without touching the bottom (E) string. The joints in the human hand simply don't bend in a fashion that you can hold down the middle three without touching the outside string. I mean, obviously it IS possible, but I just can't see how even when I see someone do it firsthand.
