The Torbay Express with 60163 Tornado July/August 2009

The long awaited film of the Torbay Express with newly-built pacific 60163 Tornado at the lead for the first half of the runs. In this 10 minute film focuses on an all-action series of shots taken on various Sundays between July 12th and August 2nd.
Since Tornado was to do six Torbay Express runs I decided to combine them all into one full length film, and follow Tornado's progress in Western territory.

Locations on the Down section to Kingswear were taken at:
Whiteball summit
Along the sea wall at Teignmouth
Goodrington Sands
Broadsands Viaduct

Up section:
Torre bank
Kennaway Tunnel, Dawlish
Starcross
Woodrow Barton
Silverton
Burlscombe, on the south western end of Whiteball
Cogload Junction

Note: The shot of Tornado emerging out of Kennaway tunnel was taken behind a metal fence, not by the lineside. Some clips have varied sounds, as in late July I bought a new microphone, which will now come in handy for filming in future.

Yes it was taken there, its pretty easy to notice although the iron fencing is pretty high so it would be challenging.

Lovely film, well done. Is the shot at 8;50 on Whiteball? I filmed her frpm there on the Cathedrals. Amazing how far the sun came round when you filmed compared to later in September when it was straight into cam. Once more great video as always. 5*
