@melbeautynails After I opened the three-stone diamond ring, he asked if 10yrs- well 3mos early of 10yrs considered a bad omen that would break our marriage up. I laughed thru tears & told him the omens were gone. The only time my rings come off is when I'm washing, showering, playing w/the kids, now 1 as oldest is grown/married, but it stays with me. I can't believe it's been more than 20yrs now. I actually hope to convince him to have a small wedding to renew our vows for his mom b/c her age.

@melbeautynails I thought it funny tho that while 1 woman was cleaning my college ring, he was checking the ring we looked at & both loved thru microscope checking for flaws! The MICROSCOPE! On Christmas Eve at his family's gathering we have each yr, he gave me a 3-stone anniversary band in yellow gold w/platinium setting for the diamonds. It was a Christmas surprise to celebrate w/family as we eloped & were 3mos from our 10th anniversary; Following 2 xmas gatherings, I got the enhanced bands.

@melbeautynails Don't get me wrong b/c I LOVE diamonds; hwr, when DH & I were dating then considering marrying, I told him point blank I didn't want an engagement ring. Every couple I knew w/the gorgeous ring, large fancy wedding, & costly honeymoon divorced inside of 3-7yrs so I thought of it as a bad omen. Then, a week b4 Christmas, he took me ring shopping w/o my knowing we were ring shopping. We found 1 I loved! Keeping the pretense, we had my college ring cleaned (to get ring size)
