'The Partisan' ~ Liedtext ~ Lyrics:
J'ai changé cent fois de nom
J'ai perdue femme et enfants
Mais j'ai tant d'amis
J'ai le ciel entier
When they marched into our shelter
I was cautioned to surrunder
This I could not do
I took my gun and vanished
I have changed my name so often
I have lost my man and children
But I have many friends
Some of them are with me now
An old woman gave us shelter
Kept us hidden in the cellar
Then the soldiers came
She died without a whisper
There were three of us this morning
I am the only one this evening
Still I must go on
The frontiers are my prison walls
For the wind, wind is blowing
Cross the graves the wind is blowing
Freedom soon will come
Then we'll come from the shadows
J'ai changé cent fois de nom
J'ai perdue femme et enfants
Mais j'ai tant d'amis
J'ai le ciel entier
(?) My french is surely improvable
This is a great live version! Her 1971 recording is one of the songs that made me a die-hard fan. In fact, it was so captivating that it was 10 years before I noticed that she only used voice and guitar (on the Ballerina recording).

This is the best version of the song ever. The nuances she's using in the melody far surpass the way she recorded it way back in the 1970's. Amazing!!
