  • Its tactile stimulation... You can do that or rub the back or stimulate the sole of d feet to make the baby cry and facilitate breathing and complete lung expansion. The baby is usually covered with slippery substance called vernix caseosa so rubbing wont hurt. Dont try it to anyone who does not bathe from amniotic fluid for nine months and just got out coz it will really catches the skin..... =) Nice video. I so love newborn care

  • I can SEE the chest and stomach moving with each breath so NO they do not need to be stimulated too much if they are doing it on their own. Crying is not a response to get then to breath. Look up natural birth more.

  • doctors pluck the baby's foot (as mean as that sounds) to find out if the baby can breathe. Why does this work? Well when the baby feels pain it cries, which means that ITS ALIVE! this is just so cool

  • you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. look CLOSELY at the BABY she is not breathing, how did i know? look at her chest fer crying out loud. she is prodding and tickling (the prodding should be done in rough but quick movements, because if its soft then that would do nothing.) the baby BECAUSE not to make her cry but to stimulate her respiratory system TO MAKE HER BREATHE. as seen in the video the baby didn't respond to stimuli (notice hand) that's why she is giving oxygen

  • I can Hear Mr. Jade Pestano in the background.

  • No, the gloves are usually wet, than it does not pain.

  • she tickles the baby in order for him to cry for breathing.

  • it is not sick, the baby is in trouble, so shut up.

  • wot does she keep doin to that baby! Dont tell me she tickling it coz it dont look too nice and them gloves can hurt! put a latex glove on and do that 2 ur chest, or even back of your other hand does not feel nice at all, catches the skin

  • This is educational. I learned how to do neonatal care. Thanks!!!
