  • Couldn't you do the exact same thing with Windows XP or 7 on a netbook?

  • @Sam111111 I wouldn't see why you couldn't do the same thing with a netbook running xp or 7. I have never tried on my netbook, but I'm sure it would work. The video above was more to show a hackintosh netbook being able to run correctly all of that stuff. With no driver or glitches. I will say that I ran loops Live on a Windows laptop for 3 years using Ableton. What I have noticed between my real mac and my pc is that the pc would have a hard time multitasking. Macs seem to run cleaner :)

  • wicked video.

are there any netbooks that can fully run ableton live in hackintosh without any problems?

  • @clayton9610 It depends on what you are wanting to do. There are only a few netbooks that can even be hacked so it limits you to there components. (video and audio). My dell ran ableton very well when all I was doing was running audio files and triggering them. For some this is good enough and it will do it well. Do to the fact that there is no firewire you are then limited to a USB audio interface. So recording will be a little harder.

  • @clayton9610 I ran out of room on the first box lol............ If it were me I would get a better computer to record with. (What I do if I want to record) The hackintosh, do to the fact it does not have firewire, is very limited when it comes to recording because you are dependent on the onboard audio card. I have not tried it but I am sure it will drop out after a few tracks. If all you need is a stereo out and are running audio tracks. It will do the job. (so will a IPod lol) :)

  • dredg bug eyes <3

  • it's more stable than xp? i dont have a notebook but i will buy a new one

  • @matthewellisondrums Mmm, dangerous. I have a Windows laptop with a copy of Ableton installed myself, but I don't really want to trust it in a live situation [it's a HP tm2 ... ah ... sometimes it decides to blue screen]. Was a bit confused on the necessity of the Hackintosh part [My Dell 10 was not the most dependable beast either ...], but I guess it's cool either way :P.

My Mac Mini has a pretty hard time multitasking or running a lot of things at once, so I dunno if it's just the OS's.
