It was a lot better than what was to come though! Power figures just kept going even further down for the next decade until the C4 started to climb back up again. 72-73 was only the very start of the damage.

73 was a bad year for horsepower, but it looks like it still goes pretty good. Just a few years earlier they had nearly twice the horsepower!
