Star Anna - Yakima, WA 7/25/2009 - "American Girl" (Tom Petty)

Star Anna played at Cora and I's big wedding party we had this summer at my parent's house west of Yakima, WA. Although they don't usually play weddings nor many covers, I've known the drummer Travis since 2nd grade so I guess we... got preferential treatment (plus a Tom Petty cover!) I can remember standing with a garden hose in this same spot 22 years earlier, trying in vain to fight a blinding dust storm and being completely miserable. My how life can change. This specific moment in particular, (among others that day), was one of the biggest highlights in life I can remember. All kinds of people that Cora and I have known throughout the years were all dancing on the hillside to one of the best Rock and Roll songs written. Special thanks to Dave Fisher for taking one for the team (rather than dancing) and getting most of this on video. Thanks also to Steve Schmidt for supplying me with the photos from the other end of that flash you see.
