An enclosed DreamFlyer would make an outstanding instrument trainer. If you use monitors instead of a Projector, a totally dark room with the only light coming from the monitors seems like an enclosed cockpit.

  • I remember. You had the projector screen setup. How is the blue canoe doing. It never was much fun for me. :) The ones I flew didn't have wings either. Once the canopy was shut, it didn't matter. With this machine sitting in a completely dark room it felt like being enclosed.

  • Thank god you've got the helmet on. Who knows what might happen if you were to crash.

  • I was prepared. Notice the aviation survival vest, complete with standard issue .38 cal revolver. Besides the .38 I had an attack dog ready. :)

  • dude thats awesome how much was all that stuff

  • The Dreamflyer Prototype - $2500.00

    Core Duo Computer - $2200.00

    4 Wide screen Monitors - $1000.00

    Flight simulator Software - $50.00

    Less than $6000.00

  • Fantastic You put me in the cockpit.

  • I messed up some. It was too dark when using only the single monitor. I should do it again and improve it so you can see more of the ooutside when I break out of the clouds. It is really fun to fly procedures in this simulator. Some day I will enclose it.

  • We have a similar instrument trainer (to the one at 1:10) in the lobby of my building, fully restored - it might even be the exact same model, but it doesn't have the wings and tail, just a box w/ a coffin lid.

  • enough for you to fly a real plane
