@narutoballzguy forerunners built the rings, they were used to wipe out any life form to starve the flood thus killing it, the halo rings arnt guys

@BlazingDur well in fact .... the newly built ring and the ark is so far away from the other rings ... that the blast from them wouldn't start all rings from going off and kill everithing ... so it was safe to detonate the new one .. tho they didin't think they would survive themselves ... but they did ..... so the story has an point of continuing .... Bungie .. if you read this message ... make another halo .. or ill dye of a severe case of haloritus :)) ... please Bungie make another game :)

@SuperREEKi the forrerunners activated the halos killing all life but they kept databases of all the species in the universe and after the halos finished firing the forrerunner AI recreated the universe by putting all the species back into existence so ur wrong

@TICKLE221 Nope, your wrong. In halo 3 the lightbulb thing said something like " Your the child of my makers. You ARE Forerunner!" unless all the humans are forerunners...

why do they activate the rings in the last one?

in halo 1 master chief destroys one of the halo rings (which is in this video). when they get to the ark they find out that the ring is being rebuilt. the flood end up on the ark, so the humans activate the ring thats on the ark to kill all life and the flood that are there. so the partly constructed ring on the ark is the only one that detonates and it only kills the stuff thats on the ark.
