Slum lord arrested for death of 3 tenants

Oct. 8, 2008: West Babylon, NY -- Long Island slum lord Wilson Milord is arrested for criminally negligent homicide in the deaths of 3 tenants. Last November, instead of installing electricity, Milord put a portable generator in the basement of a West Babylon home he owned. The fumes from the generator killed 3 tenants, including a 4 year old child. Milord is being held on $500,000 bond.

No one does anything until it's too late. When people die the slumlord gets a fine. Big deal. How about enforcing codes? Taxpayers pay city inspectors salaries. Why won't they do their jobs?
