What would you say is better for a jazz combo? My soloing has picked up momentum and opened up into unfamiliar tonal coloring. I'm looking at getting a shires or michael rath for my senior recital. Also the choice is relevant considering most of my repratoire is classical.

They are both great horns. Get the horn that feels the best, the horn that is the easiest to play etc,. If you plan to play jazz and classical on the same horn then I recommend a medium or medium large bore. Hope that helps..

You need to be singing real pitches while projecting the voice in front of the mouthpiece.
