  • paramedic bike? that doesnt make any sense!

  • Why is that??..you wouldn't say that if you were in need of a medic at 5pm on a Friday evening and the roads in London were gridlocked?

  • Obviously they are intended to arrive at the scene quicker than an Ambulance, saving vital minutes, only the Ambulance can transport patients to the hospital! ;-$

There is sense...Imagine that...it's about 3-6 o'clock PM, all the city is suffering terrible trafic jam, so who gonna be faster (in for example heart arrest), the papramedic on the bike, or an ambulance??...If You have the situation that the ALS algorhitmes are required...the bike has almost the same as the ambulance have (respirator, defibrilator, intubate kit, drugs, etc) ;)

  • down here in Sao Paulo, Brazil, we have motorbikes for everything, from police to firemen and EMS since the traffic jams are huge, they are pretty useful!

  • @twizy123 Where I live (The Netherlands) we've had ambulance bikes for a couple of years now and initially a lot of people had the same response. However, especially in old town centers with narrow roads or areas with heavy traffic, a bike has many advantages. They can do anything a regular ambulance can, except transport patients. Getting to the scene fast can make the difference between needing an ambulance or a hearse for transport.

  • A Honda Pan-European (aka) ST1300, easily handles the EMS first response gear...they're also used as Fire Dept first response vehicles in some countries, with a couple small extinguishers, booster line, 30gal tank, etc.

  • @horizoneatsun14 IT REALLY ANNOYS ME AS WELL!
