Way to show the blade sticking through the stock way too far. Good way to increase the hazardousness of a tool: Increase the amount of unguarded blade, and how long the blade will still be in the stock accelerating the saw backwards as it kicks. Adjust your depth properly.

Professional saws have diamond arbors, so no, the blade won't slip in that case.

My dad taught me to always stand off to the side of the cutline, so a kickback won't get me.

say what you want I was cutting the ends off some stakes for a cement pour i was doing like i had a million times and i looked away to quick on the last one and put the saw through my finger when it kicked. Luckily i was lucky and only needed three stitches.
