@KingWalMart Bodda you?

Live? They sounded amazing! The intro was small kine long, but it was a nice walk down memory lane with the rare pictures. As a child I remember listening to them in church in Nanakuli, before their fame. Mahalo nui loa e Boda.

Mahalo plenty for this clip. Although the lead up was long I didn't mind because this very night is a memory I've enjoyed for years. You see, Israel and I were best friends in those years. He and Kohala Lim were just teenagers at that time. Moon's musical genius, Skippy's mana, and Israel's magic took Hawaiians somewhere they had never been. And till today, they still do.

I am so honored to find this. It is indeed a rare treasure. My spirit is moved and happy to be able to share this beautiful memory.

Mahalo for posting this video. I've always wanted to get a glimpse of what it must have looked like watching them sing after all these years of listening to Live at Hanks Place. I'm Hawaiian, but I was born and raised in Chicago listening to any Hawaiian music I could get my hands on. I'm so thankful that you posted this video. Aloha from Chicago. Kaleo and family

BJ Penns theme. Finally I've put the two together.

@louquarm
Almost, Bj's theme is the other video I made titled "HAWAII 78" .
I added 1978 to this video because of the year that it was filmed for this TV broadcast.
However the big Hawaiian you see in this video with the yellow shirt is once-leader of the
Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, named Skippy. His brother in the middle is a very young "IZ" or
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Skippy passed away early in their career as the top Hawaiian group
of the late 70's.

Hana Ho'u! Really impressive, and so important to preserve Hawaiian culture.

@MrTimothycochran
Yes it is, and so hard to find old footage of them, very hard.
This site has been dedicated to any Hawaiian group or band who cannot afford a music video.
My services are free for all Hawaiian music groups interested.
All the videos besides the "live" footage you see has been either filmed by me or my Hawaiian friends
and constructed or edited for viewing here.
Hawaiian music is so unheard of around the globe it really deserves a place in time.
Thanks!
