Actually we need two rockets this time because the lander and the Crew module are both heavier than the Apollo lander/CSM. The Ares V (the cargo vehicle in the new architecture) is actually as big as the Saturn V and can lift a little more payload to orbit.
First time I've ever seen this concept of the orion working, if this were the 60's, everybody would have seen this concept by now. Lander makes the LM look like a 1970 Charger by comparison. Bigger SM/CM has solar panels. Goes up in 2 rockets instead of a Saturn 5 since we don't have rockets that big any more.
