@shanustheanus first - what you've said seems like a perfectly appropriate reason to pick disparate comedians as examples of u.s. comedy talent. i didn't name people i think are the most popular, or i would have listed, i dunno, seinfeld or something. i think people would have missed the point if i'd mentioned jim norton. second, i only meant it was "unfair" to fallon to be compared to merchant because merchant is clearly more talented. third, i dunno -- mind-altering substances?
