  • What a magnificent aircraft. The commentator said the Spitfire was superior, but this is not so, as each had special features which made them famous. More German planes were shot down in the Battle of Britain by Hurricanes than Spitfires. Both these planes were blessed by having the best engine in the world - the magnificent Rolls~Royce Merlin V12, an engine that transformed the American Mustang! Rolls~Royce rules. Thank you for a magnificent video - pity the commentary was not easy to follow.

  • Mk iv - The Mk iv was first known as a MkIIIE, this was a MKII with a universal wing,(E) This wing was a "non fighter wing" designed to carry 20mm/40mm cannon, rockets etc. It then became known as the MKiv a dedicated ground attack a/c

  • Great Vid mate! Never seen an Hurri flow this hard at a display! Thanks!

  • the hurri was to the brits what the P-40 was to the yanks..not quite great butvery much good enough. I favor the Hurricane myself due to ease of construction, easier maintenance and she was downright rugged. she was the last evolution from fabrique to metal, held her own till they could rally better and worked past retirement....HIP HIP HURRI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its a Mk.IV with wings from a Mk.IIC

  • this show is brilliant highly recommended to go their this year

  • This is a Mk.IIC as I can clearly see the four 20mm cannons projecting from the wings. Awesome vid, thanks for posting!!!!!!!

  • He probably meant superior in performance which the Spitfire was, Spit had more scope for development. There were also twice as many Hurricanes during the battle which is why they shot more down.

  • That's some decent flying right there. Not the prettiest bird around for sure, but the Merlin sounds nice! A few examples saw limited action with the Finnish Air Force during WWII. Thanks for posting!

  • vey nice
