When ever different community members can come together for a similar cause and mission, its a great thing. What's the definition of a great cause? For me, its a purposeful movement that is taken on by more than one person for the benefit and edification of another person or organization. There are so many good people in our Carmel Valley San Diego community that are campaigning for great causes that its hard sometimes to really highlight just one.
We're experiencing a time that has been likened to the Great Depression. Families, business and communities have been hit hard financially and many are still trying to recover. Amidst the struggle, there are a few inspiring stories that leave you with a feeling of hope and motivation. There's a family who's story is inspirational. This family so happens to own Pretty Please and Daisy Blue from our local shopping center here in Carmel Valley San Diego. If you've ever been to the Del Mar Highlands, you've probably seen all the construction that has been going on to improve our shopping center. However, if the construction hasn't intimidated you, then I'm sure you've enjoyed the wonderful walk that you can take from one end of the shopping center to the other. And during your walk you've probably seen that Pretty Please and Daisy Blue both are situated right next to each other at the heart of the center. Well the owners and management teams of these two beautiful boutiques, has served our community so well and has had so much success that they are continuing to expand their line of stores into other parts of California. That in itself is a remarkable story, especially during one of the toughest times in our countries existence. But what's even more inspiring, is that even amidst their success, the owners of Pretty Please and Daisy Blue have taken on a personal responsibility to give back to communities and organizations that need help.
Long time customer and community member Peggy Foos knew exactly who to reach out to when she decided to raise some money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Peggy wanted to join forces with other local businesses to increase her efforts and make an even bigger contribution to the Project. On June 29th, 2011 Peggy, her team (Lucienne Lastovic and Karen matsukevich), Pretty Please and Daisy Blue hosted a private party and fundraiser for a few VIP guests. Each participant committed a certain amount to the cause and a percentage of the proceeds from the sales that night also went to the cause. Peggy is a local business-owner and is always looking for ways to give back to her community. If you're interested in helping The Wounded Warrior Project or other similar projects in Carmel Valley San Diego, please feel free to contact us or Peggy Foos.
