ELSA Germany's video teaser for presenting Nuremberg, host of the Autumn 2008 ICM, as presented at the ICM in Prague in Spring 2007.
(c) HanjoH, 2007, using
- audio: "Thus Spake Zarathustra" as performed by the London Promenade Orchestra
- video: opening scene from "Catch-22" (Mike Nichols, 1970)
- images: from the www
I agree about the Fraktur font. Not a good look. I thought the whole Zarathustra theme and the images didn't do the city of my birth at all justice.

"during Germany's darkest hours" and in the ~900 years of Nuremberg's existance before them.
The german-type font was usual between the late medieval age and the early 20th century.
Just because of its short renaissance in the 3rd Reich we should not brand it as "nazi text". That's inappropriate.
Nuremberg was one of the most important citys of the 1st Reich and so it fits quite well to use this old font, I think.

Hey Friends,
Maybe you guys could use a different type of letter. It looks a little bit to much like the lettertype that has been used during Germany's darkest hours. proudly presents etc. ect. there are multiple types to write that. Thanks in advance. and it looks great.
with kind regards,
