@tmomof6 I stand by what I said that he is not understanding the technology... It is not the lack of glazing that cause the water to seep through but it is the pores that are there because of the sawdust that is burned out during the firing process. It is not available in the United States only because the technology was designed for use in the third world where the water crisis is most prevalent. Here in the United States, potable water is available anywhere thus eliminating the need for it.

@cdltpx Chlorine is a carcinogen.
colloidal silver kills viruses & bacteria.

@jfanactor, he said like 20 times that 'The pot not being available here in America is the conspiracy.' You aren't understanding the words coming out of his mouth. You heard a southern accent & stopped listening to the content. He sited the website he found & was praising the brilliance & simplicity of the product while bashing its lack of commercial availability in America. Please watch the video again for confirmation.

dude, watch out for lead. All ceramic pots have some. Run a metal detector over one chip and it beaps. The Original Americans used it as war paint(in place of bear fat and native dirt) when the whites brought over this cheaper substitute. They got lead poisoning.

@hungsolo25 That's what you would have me think if you were trying to disorient the alerted. Well played, spy.

@DaveWreckingCrew Yer because everything is a conspiracy and everybody is a spy

@Sheila6325 These are impregnated with colloidal silver. It has been the best solution to obtain potable water in poor countries and after disasters. Potters for Peace offers FULL instructions if you want to learn more. Of course, you can make other multiphase filters, but this is quick and easy and highly effective (see lab results)

@wiewayflats WTF is this a excuse not to have a good filter?

You may want to consider that about 8 years ago there was a huge change in the laws because people were dying from buying expensive stoneware dishes that were not fired enough and the chemicals made them VERY, VERY ILL, to the point of death.
Remember, if you plan on using these for drinking water, there are LETHAL materials in some of the clay used to make pottery. This is most likely why you can't buy certain pottery in this country. It's not fired high enough to not kill you.

dont you mean the glazing was not fired enough?

That is true, and the most often mentioned, however there is lead in most of the materials used in pottery. It's not just the glaze, or the paint, or the low heating tempature, it's also the MANY different things in the pottery, especially when there are a lot of temperature issues that keep popping up. I thought it was a great idea too, but then I remembered.... and it's not good.
You have to dig a little deeper to find out about it, but they are there, lots of poisions.

@Sheila6325 why would you make a pot for the purpos of filtering water with clay that has contaminated lead? or any other contaminates? did you check the link in the more info section?
