You probably know this by now, but whenever possible - do your maiden flights off the ground rather than handlaunch.. Far fewer variables... :)

Yeah - unfortunately the grass is too long and uneven for a ground launch of this model... good advice tho for those that do!

Looks nose heavy. It could also be under powered. Did you throw it into the wind? Also check your trims. If this is your first rc plane then I suggest you join an AMA club in your area and they'll help out.

Yeah I thought it looked that way too, but I had pretty thoroughly balanced it. Not actually my first plane, but actually I have just gotten my AMA number, and will be going to a local field soon. But luckily, the successor planes to this one have had more luck ;)

After seeing your (expensive) video, I was just about to suggest going to a local flying club, but see I have been beaten to it. Good to see you joined the AMA as the first step toward club membership. I joined our local club exactly one week ago today. Lots of help there for the beginner, and I can see what the old timers are up to. I'm leaning heavy toward the Ultimate plane, and was looking for vids.

Hehe... yeah thanks. I have now largely perfected my flying, and have chalked that one up to a hasty build, and nose-heavy construction with too little experience. I went through a lot of planes to master it, but am now doing well ;) You'll love the Ultimate Bipe - this same plane is now reborn with parts from another one and is my favorite one to fly!
