  • With version 7 you can do all the functions in the video. To get more icons, select View->Toolbars->Large Tool Set.

  • Snapping is when moving the cursor close to a certain location, SketchUp will automatically jump to it. For example, when copying a timber on the foundation, the corner of the timber will snap to the corner of the foundation when it moves close to it.

  • what do you press to place the 2 frames in the middle of the two frames in both corners?

  • I'm not sure I understand your question. My best guess is that you are asking how to make a copy. Selection what you want to copy, select the Move/Copy tool, press Ctrl and then move a copy away from the original.

  • At 3:45, you were able to adjust the dimension of the building size after you set it- how did you do that? I am using Mac and trying to learn Sketchup- thanks! And also this video is really very clear and good inform, even though I am deaf and can't hear you talking if you are giving speech, it is still visual enough for me to follow what you are doing and trying to show.

  • Dimensions of any drawing operation can be changed by simply typing the new dimensions. Typing will appear in the Dimensions box (you don't have to click in that window to activate it). But keep in mind that after you've done another drawing operation, the dimensions of the previous operation cannot be changed.

  • What version or template of sketchup are you using as my version doesn't have nearly as many icons as yours? Particularly the measurement box. I am using pro version 7.

  • What do you mean by "snap"?

  • @bweissvt I know now...:) I did not use the sound when I watched the movie... but thnx anyway, good vid:)

  • These instructional videos are awesome. Thank you. One suggestion would be to avoid use of right click, triple click, control-z, or other "hidden" or platform dependent commands which may not be available or are difficult to remember (as opposed to selecting commands from the menus).
