Yes, we all like the idea of flying the plane, but what about getting it off the ground in the first place? This tutorial shows the proper procedure for ramp start, taxi and take off in the F-15C Eagle. This tutorial was made with the latest version of flaming Cliffs 2.0. You will not have the ability to request engine start in previous versions of the simulator.

NOTE: This procedure can be modified slightly to allow for formation takeoffs and online squadron activities. These procedures will differ from group to group.

Also note: The cockpit is NOT the stock F-15 cockpit. The cockpit shown in this video is a colaborative effort between DoctorK and myself. While DoctorK's part is essentially completed, the various gauges I am working on remain a work in progress and will be updated in the future. You can get the current version of this mod here: http://files.lockon.ru/en/117/ (Special thanks to Mustang for packaging the mod)

Enjoy!

  • Your vids are helpfull and welcomed.

I would have liked to see your arrow indicators appear more while following your dialogue, such as showing the flap indicator when flap position was mentioned etc.

    Thanks for your efforts.

  • @DESHolden Thanks for the feedback and critisizm. It's much appreciated. Glad you find the videos helpful :)

  • Love you're vids as always, but I don't really think start-up, taxi, and take off, really needs a guide, there are many of thing that would be great though, anyway keep it up mate

  • @Hardmetal1993 How did I KNOW I was going to get a comment like this =)

While I cannot really talk about everything that's happening within the 104th, the video is intended to work with our training curriculum, just as my landing tutorial did. While this is probably not too helpful to pilots familiar with flying lockon, it is probably still useful to those new to the simulator. I hope I didn't disappoint too many people with this video. I may have more interesting one up in a few weeks.

  • @JediLink25 How get you the graphics so good in Lock on ? pls

  • when i press escape it wont let me take control it makes me leave

  • Hi can you tell me how you start off like this sitting at the airbase? Everytime i start a mission or try to create one it always starts mid flight.

  • @JediLink25

    Copy that... :)

Eventhough I've been flying DCSBS, IL21946, ROF, ILWOP, FSX, ... well.. you name it... It was still interesting to see what a "standard" take-off was in LOMAC:FC2... (burning some steam while waiting for the game to arrive...)

So, thanks for the good vid...

  • is there a way you can set the throttle to idle by pressing a button?

  • Very helpful tutorial, better than ED's training :)

  • @JediLink25 No offense meant mate! I love you and the 104th! big S! And hopefully it will help out some of our newer pilots! :) Can't wait for your next one!

  • arn't the "anti-collision lights" known as the navigation lights ?
