Solomon's Knot

This stitch is delightfully dainty, particularly when fine wool or cotton are used.
Its net-like appearance makes it ideal for evening scarves and bed-wraps.
No foundation chain is required for this stitch.

1st Row
- Loop wool on the hook
- Draw out the stitch on the hook to 1/2inch
- Wool over the hook and draw through the loop
- Insert the hook into the back thread of the loop
- Wool over, draw through, wool over, draw through both loops on the hook
(This process completes one set of Solomon's knot (abbreviation s.k.)
repeat from * for length required)

2nd Row
- Miss first 3 S.K.s
- One d.c. into knot
- * 2 S.K.s, miss 1 S.K. from previous row
- 1 d.c. into knot
- Repeat from * all along
- 2 S.K.s, turn

3rd Row
- Miss first 3 S.K.s
- 1 d.c. into knot
- * 2 S.K.s
- Miss 2 S.K.s from previous row
- 1 d.c. into knot
- Repeat from * until the end
- 2 S.K turn
- Repeat 3rd row as required

  • very nice stitch. I will try in my next work. greetings from Ecuador

  • Impossible to see what you're actually doing from this angle.........

  • You cannot see anything...

  • I don't knit much, so a lot of knots and stitches are too hard! Hahaha...

That makes me want to try harder and improve!

I like sewing and embroidery better than knitting...
