are you sure?? i thought rats and fleas carried BUBONIC plague? not neumonic plague, THEY ARE 2 COMPLETLY DIFFERENT DISEASES... THE WAY YOU CONTRACT THEM I MEAN??  Either way they are both deadly...Those cases in china recently were bubonic, that they say were caused buy flea bites,,

The organism is the same for bubonic,septicemic, and pneumonic plague..The differences are the location of infection, and mode of transmission. A person with bubonic plague(bitten by an infected flea) can get a secondary infection to the lungs and develop the pneumonic form. That infected person in turn, could give another a "primary" infection...
