Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter Break Up — A Look Back at Their Three-Year Romance

Hey there, I'm Lauren. Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter have announced that they've sadly ended their relationship. We're taking a look back at their romance in today's PopSugar Rush.

After more than three years together, Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly have broken up. Reps for the stars confirmed the news last night, though it's reportedly an amicable split and Minka and Derek remain friends. PopSugar editor Molly Goodson is here with a look back at their time together.

Minka and Derek first got together back in 2008, when they were spotted hanging out in Texas where Minka was shooting Friday Night Lights. Minka said in a recent HBO documentary about Derek that she wasn't really a baseball fan before she met him, but soon she was going to his games. She rod with him in 2009 at the World Series Parade, and she was even wiping away tears from the sidelines when he hit his record-breaking 3000 hits in July.

Even though Derek is this huge sports star and he's dated high-profile women in the past like Jessica Biel and Vanessa Minnillo, he kept his relationship with Minka pretty private while they were dating, and they weren't really the types to hog the spotlight.

Minka: "I certainly understand the curiosity, but the way we keep it private, the way we keep it low-key is just by not talking about it."

Despite the couple's reluctance to talk about their relationship, the two couldn't dodge engagement rumors, which Minka addressed in a GQ interview earlier this year, saying:

"I promise you, I'm not getting married this month."

Though Minka and Derek may be going their separate ways, they'll still have plenty to keep them busy as they get over the breakup. Derek is in the middle of his season with the Yankees, and Minka is shooting her upcoming series Charlie's Angels in Miami.
