"Ritalin has been shown to increase the risk of drug addiction later in life. It has also proven to cause permanent brain changes and has never been shown to actually improve school outcome."
Would you mind to show some proof ? After 7.000 scientifics studies we now know that it´s exactly the opposite.

@thetruthergirls oh yea well I bought my B.E.D. in a store!! And it wasin't just a half! but thats not the point; the point is that ritalin is good, and it is prooven that it is good even tho people like you say it isin't.
good song tho :)
Im a neurobiologist receiving my phd and ive been diagnosed with this. There are some misconceptions about this here. Ritalin is not proven to increase risk of addiction or suicide. ADHD itself is known to increase risk of suicide because it has a lot of mental illnesses statistically associated with it. The same is true for drug addiction - not the medication but the disease itself is associated with higher risk of addiction. Ritalin does not change that You cant blame anything or anyone for it

@di55ionize I guess if you're almost at your PhD you should be smarter than to poison yourself with pharmaceuticals. My experience with having 'ADD' symptoms was that I couldn't function well because I had a stupid crappy job that I didn't like. As soon as I got fired, my 'depression' and 'ADD' problems were solved.
How did you make it this far with untreated 'ADD'? Personally, I think that a lot of people diagnosed with this have nothing wrong with them, they just have a different way of being

@thetruthergirls thats what ADD is. if it was an inability to do anything, it would be death, and i aint dead. It just makes doing things wich don't give you dopamine very hard to do. because i think ppl with ADD have less dopamine, and dopamine is what life is all about, everything you do, you do to get dopamine like eating, working maybe breathing. but i'm not the one with a phd what do i know. point is; ppl with ADD can't do stuff that sucks. and in life we gotta do alot of things that suck.

@paenitet7nullum I was kicked out of kindergarten, that's how hyper I was. I just have a low tolerance for wasting my time. I do a lot of things that suck, that don't 'give you dopamine', I just go on automatic pilot and think about something else while I'm doing them. With that tactic, I could clean toilets for a living if I had to. But I can't do a good job doing something stupid that involves your mind, cause my mind will be elsewhere. Life is too short to waste your mind on stupid jobs.

@thetruthergirls but when there is something you NEED to do your views about it change, If the mind cannot change a situation, it learns to like it. if you had ritaline you would have stayed in kindergarden and would have gotten better marks in school, wich would have gotten you a better job. aHA! full circle. ritalin is for doing stuff that doesn't give you dopamine, like algebra. it has more good then bad.

@paenitet7nullum Bullshit. I graduated from University with 3.36 gpa- marks very close to honors. What did you think? I dropped out of Kindergarten? I did a BFA, a TESL cert and half a B. Ed in English and then I just decided I didn't want to be a teacher after all because I didn't like what I saw of the educational system. And I am very happy doing the work I do now.
