@iTyler2009 From what you have told me, it appears that you are suffering from some sort of sensitivity to whatever metal this jewelry is made of, perhaps not specifically nickel. It may be necessary that you exclusively use Niobium, or high grade Titanium jewelry for this piercing. See your local technician to have a sterile piece installed. The clue that leads me to this conclusion are the great length of time required for inflammation to present. Nickel's usually quicker to show...

Do you know why someone would develop extra sensitivity to nickel? I had my ears pierced when I was 5 with no problems. Then, when I was 16, my ears started having red, itchy, painful reactions. I stopped wearing earrings after trying (and having no success with) 14k gold and various 'nickel-free' earrings. Four years later, I'd really like to wear earrings again.
Do you have any suggestions? Is titanium or surgical stainless steel better for earrings?
Thanks for any help!
I got my belly button pierced 5 days ago and it was a tiny bit red and sore at first but now its gotten really red and its got like a blistery rash around it, also its a little bit itchy when i touch it, so i thought i might be allergic to nickle but ive never had this problem before with any other piercings

@xoxL0YL0xox That sounds like you have a bit of a reaction to the material going on, that or there was a hiccup in the sterile chain, and a bit of contamination occurred. Remember; Nickel is toxic, no one is safe!

I have a question. I want a second set of ear piercing, and it's not around my cartilage or anything, but i want to be safe, but i don't want the slow pain.. should I get my lobe done w/ a gun or needle. should I get my cartilage done w/ a gun or needle?

@nessawithsmiles Under no circumstances do I advocate the use of a Piercing Gun, not for lobes, and especially not for cartilage. Pain is a simple fact of getting pierced, it is part of it. An experienced practitioner will know how to guide you in minimizing the discomfort of being pierced. Piercing guns CANNOT provide a truly safe piercing experience.

I'm super sensitive to nickel. If I removed the scar from the shitty piercing would that help? I guess I would need to go to a doctor or someone specializing. The scar is many years old and I avoid nickel like its aids. Are there other ways to curb a nickel sensitivity as well?

@NonDripHelmet I suggest that you see a physician, avoiding nickel is always a good idea, and not wearing poorly manufactured jewelry will help.
