the three rivers tower
isn't as tall as burj dubai.
we can lift it up
or we can build again.
we can raise a spire for the world.

african splendor
smuggled through war in lady's purse.
we can polish some
a rebel never wins.
we provide the diamonds to the world.

indian mistress
interpreting lines on lady's hand.
there you have a heart
this is everything you have.
these are the desires of the world.

american princess
flashes a smile and passes by.
here you have a heart
a rebel never wins
i will raise a spire for the world.

  • @bowlingballout if you meant it as a compliment i will take it that way, thanks for taking the time to listen to one of my songs, i really appreciate it!

  • @bowlingballout

Red House Painters is the name of a terrific band. Very haunting. One of my favorite songs of theirs is called "have you forgotten".

I hope you take my previous comment as high praise.

    :D

Apparently there are two versions on YT. I suggest watch?v=L1tZavRpEbk

  • @bowlingballout thanks, i'm not sure what you mean, but i was trying to be a painter for a few minutes. it's a picture of pride and human desire to rise above the rest.

  • There's a soupçon of Red House Painters in this song.

    Nice.

  • @johnmusicover thanks for commenting, i'm glad you liked it!
