05/09/2009 - Amtrak Northeast Corridor - Sunnyside Yard, Long Island City, Queens, NY

What, no "Little Tree" air freshener??? lol Amtrak AEM-7AC #952 and a string of Budd Amfleet Is go thru the Sunnyside Yard Car Wash & Loop after a jaunt north up the NEC from Washington, D.C. Union Station.

And no way to end a long trip is better than a good washdown in a water-diluted acid cleaning solution, good to remove the grit and grime a train can get while in action on the road. Lemme tell everyone first hand after taking many trains thru the washes at Croton Harmon Yard and Stamford Yard that the cleaning solution stinks a cross between a wet dog and some badly left to fester sweatsocks!!! YUCK!!!! :-P lol :-D

Look for 2 LIRR M-7s on the main line and a "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSeven Train to Tiiiiiiiiiiiimes Square- 42nd Street" in the background

Neither have I, but Ryan, NYP isn't a terminal for ALL trains. Sunnyside is just the yard for trains done with their shift and when they are ready to begin it again. Its really something.

I pass this yard all the time going to Mets games.
