Fight the Tyranny that Owns America
The largest importer of crude and petroleum into the United States is Canada.
Canada extracts 47% of all of its crude and petroleum from its Athabascan Oil Sands in the western Province of Alberta. They're currently producing 1.32 million barrels per day and are planning to produce 5 million barrels per day by 2020.
Hot water is pumped in to extract the bitumin from the earth, leaving behind a lake of toxic slurry, bigger than any scenic lake to be found in Europe.
The violent scar of environmental devastation in Alberta's land can be easily seen from Outer Space.
Lanny Cotler, the producer of this film says that, as a part of the expansion of this tar sands extraction operation, massive trucks constructed in Korea will be trucked through the most untouched wilderness areas of the US, traversing National Parks in Idaho and Montana.
Lanny doesn't see any benefits from this for the local residents of these US States. Not surprisingly, the Canadian regulations won't even allow these loads through their pristine areas!
Lanny states that the respective US Governors of Idaho & Montana have been utterly corrupted into allowing these megaloads to pass through these tiny 2-lane mountain back roads.
Lanny suggests that if you are so moved, you may write letters to the following people:
1. Rex W. Tilerson, CEO
Exxon Mobil Corporation
5959 Las Colinas Blvd.
Irving, TX 75039
2. William W. George
Exxon Board of Directors
(617) 496-6517

3. Brian Schweitzer

4. 'Butch' Otter

State of Idaho

I found it more depressing than anything. It confirms my worst fears about Corporations and government. Times looks mighty bleak and helpless, indeed.
Who's the narrator? Great voice. Seem familiar, but can't place it.

I live in Texas and they want to bring the oil in a pipeline all the way to our refinerys on the coast! I have written my representatives to demand this not happen! There are better options and we no longer need to rape Mother for energy! Stop the Tar Sands Now!
