No, its a MASTERPIECE by a genius of filmmaking who reinvented the syntax, cadence and vocabulary of cinema, the first director to film moments of life "between" those overt, unrealistic, melodramatic events that compel most movie narratives. His silences and scrutiny and his astonishing observations of events are fraught with mystery. The murder in the park is filmed as an ambiguous, baffling, eerie, realistic happening, all scored by gushing sounds of wind through leaves..
Great video. But it's a bit hard to hear Jeff say those things about Antonioni (rip) who directed so many masterpieces, Red Desert is one of my fave films. Jeff's a brilliant musician though--
"Pompous oaf" haha - I'd rather listen to Beck-Ola than watch summut like that anyway
