Unlikely Family

I made this (my first) documentary in the spring of 2007 for the Documentary Video class at the University of Texas Austin. The doc focuses on a polyamorous triad raising a child together in Austin, TX.

@somerandomnameyeah what about them makes them nut jobs? i guarantee you that you have no reason to feel sorry for the child, he's living in a home with 3 parents that love him dearly. Just because you're monogamous and most likely straight, doesn't mean your lifestyle is the only one that works, you have no right to judge another's.... #NoH8

@clittle10301 Be sure, the Chances of a child in Monogamy family getting messed up is much higher than a child in a family with more than 2 parent.

Because if 1 or 2 of the Parents are busy the other will be with the Kid, so that will prevent him from getting Messed up or Uneducated or lacking Social needs.......

I believe in Polyandry, very much BUT ONLY amongst CONSENTING and WILLING ADULTS. For LOVE, like, affection of the other(s) involved NOT for tradition, culture, and religion or faith fundamentalism.

@hunkymunky008 You really type a lot do you. As a bisexual I can tell you: I don't feel bizarre for being one, I'm bizarre myself, but I've always been so, so yeah. XD I'm not polyamorous, but I know polyamorous families. They are fine, at least the kids I know of them aren't bratty, they are open minded and less prone to bully. they are excruciatingly smart for their own good, and they are all straight. XD You have to open your mind a bit more, least a kid of you turns out "bizarre." XD

@hunkymunky008 I feel a bit offended, because I'm bisexual, and I have a lot of transgender friends who are even cooler than "normal" people. Calling them freaks is a major no no, they are people and that's it. If you think that because we have different sexual orientations we are freaks of nature, or mentally ill, then that's your opinion and I respect that, I just respect us back because we deserve it, too. We are normal people, we just have different tastes than you. Can you handle that? ^^

@hunkymunky008 Of course I don't! May of my friends are underaged, and I have cousins as young as ten years younger than me, and nieces and nephews even younger! I don't even DARE to imagine what would happen to them if my aunts, uncles or cousins would let them get married to 48 year olds! It's freaking insane!

I'm from Mexico, the coming of age is at 18, but I think a child of 16 can consent... I don't remember it correctly, I have to ask my father. And still I think it's too young.

@hunkymunky008 I dont' think you understood: Normal polyamorous relationships are alright, they tend to be more loyal than monogamous, as far as I've seen anyways. Nobody is brain washed, nobody is forced, nobody is raped. They can walk out without any shame, and nobody will come to get them.The people in them don't need secret railroads to escape to a better life, and the cops will side with whomever is better rather than with their "brothers". FLDS style polygamy, not THAT'S sick.
