As the economy continues to slowdown throughout the U.S. the unemployment rate continues to rise.
Challenger Gray & Christmas, an outplacement firm, conducted a survey analyzing the correlation between the economy and unemployment rate over the past year.
The survey showed that throughout the last seven months, corporations have reported 579,260 jobs cuts. Shockingly, 103,312 of those job cuts occurred in July alone, which is 33% more of job cuts then this time last year.
The survey also included a breakdown of layoffs between industries throughout the month of July...transportation companies announced 17,051 layoffs and financial services announced 15,517.
