@MGBGT1976 ... I obtained the HS6 from a friend that had a rotting Volvo in their yard ... The car has since been "totaled" in an accident... I miss it. I'll probably pick another one up in a couple of years...

1.8L 4-Cylinder single barrel 1.75" "constant depression" side-draught carb. (SU HS-6, if that means anything to you :)), with a 4-speed manual. It's a "nearly" stock engine for the car... I have "plans" though...

"Balls out" in a near stock MGB is not even close to the performance of newer cars with the same size engine. While I may have been going quite fast in parts, I wasn't actively trying to push the car to the limits of adhesion. I was more getting a feel for the balance of the car with the current inflation pressures and larger tire foot print.

hope you realize that tires need 500 miles to be properly worn in before you go balls out. i had a friend who wrecked up there because he did not wear in his tires.
