With no good ice locally, we'll take whatever we can get. A road trip to the hills got us a ton of perch and pickerel. Very windy day but we anchored the Frabill shanty and were able to stay nice and warm all day long.

  • If you dont mind me asking, what state is this in? I live in Wethersfield and i notice some decent ice forming over the last couple of days, just wondering how far north i would need to go to get some solid ice. Tight lines and be safe, Matt

  • @Fisherguy28

It was just over the MA border in VT... We should be fishing Wethersfield soon! I'll be checking some smaller coves on the river tomorrow. Call me at CT Outfitters in the afternoon for a report on conditions!

  • Cool stuff, thanks for the video!

  • @EssJay333 Thanks! With any luck, we'll be fishing locally in a few more days. Never seen such a slow start to our season here in CT...

  • keep them coming(vids)

i am in SE Michigan and we have no fishable ice yet, at least 3 weeks behind this year.

    SUCKS

  • thanks, maybe this weekend for me

  • Nice work, Blaine. You are putting that GoPro to good use. The ice screw adaptation is very cool too. Hopefully we can get on locally soon. This wind blows (no pun intended)...
