@blacthunda007 Not sure where you got your facts from but Five Star were first. Single was released in May 84 as a single in the UK. And released as part of the album in 85. New Edition covered it and released in July 84 in the US but only as part of the album.

@blacthunda007 I remember hearing NE's version first, but Five Star had the only video of this song in rotation on BET 1984/1985. Before( All Fall Down) which was heavy in rotation summer 1985 (forget the show name) but it All Fall Down was always airing

Sorry to come in this and Put in my 10 cents, but To EVISU6 I would like to differ with you New Edition (Members: Ralph, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky & Mike) was the first to release the Hide and Seek in July the 6th 1984 and It was written in 1983!! Which Is a statement in Wikipedia, and Five Stars Version was done Released in June 5, 1985 and Recorded 1984/1985. So please make sure you check your information first before trying to post anything thank you.

I love NE, and love 5 Star, but I'm going with the Pearsons' on this one. I believe Denise when she sings this. NE sounds like they are just reading the words given them. Just my opinion. They are both good however, but since the poster ask which do I think is better. I just think 5Star did a better job.
