@CurrentFixation I belonged to a RPCNA from birth until 1996, when my family moved. Since then I've kept up with the RP world but not as much as I thought, evidently, because I had no idea they had redone the Book of Psalms for Singing! So now it's 119W instead of 119X? And I noticed that it appeared the words had been redone to more closely match the original text? (And eliminating the old English)
Russia is an 18th century American composition by Daniel Reed. It is still sung in the Sacred Harp shape note 'sings' -- simialr to a Psalm sing, a cappella, but with Watts Hymns. Look on youtube for Russia Sacred Harp. It's number 107, I think. I am fascinated and delighted that it is popular in the RPCNA -- talking to one fellow who helped craft the 1974 BPS, he wasn't sure anybody would ever dare sing this. But now the kids of some congregations ask for it.
@11berto124—This particular tune is called RUSSIA. It can be found in The Book of Psalms for Singing and The Book of Psalms for Worship—both published by Crown & Covenant Publications, which has an online store. They also have psalter resources and library at psalter dotorg.

119W just doesn't have the same ring as 119X *lol*
One of my favourite psalms. Thank you for sharing!

Where the melody is coming from? We over here sing the Psalms on melodies of Straatsbourg and Geneva.
