    Really helpful, thanks. I agree with the comment below that I'd also like to see how the main yarn is joined and then how the waste yarn is removed.

    It would be even more helpful to go a few steps further on this project and then stop and show how to remove the waste yarn .

    If this is going to be the start of a project and you know you won't need live stitches you just put the last loop that's on the crochet hook on the knitting needle. No need to attach a new yarn and you knit right off it. This was meant for waste yarn to later have live stitches.
