Jade West is the world's largest producer and exporter of nephrite Jade, operating three mines located in Northern British Columbia, 100 miles east of the Alaskan Border. During a short summer mining season, when the area is
free from snow, Jade West annually mines 100 tons of jade for export to China. Jade West is also the exclusive supplier of the newly discovered POLAR JADE, described by FRED WARD in the Lapidary Journal, November 1998, as, "the newest, brightest, most translucent, greenest, hardest nephrite yet discovered." .

  • what is the difference between burma jade and this jade ??

  • They are 2 different stones. Jade from Canada is Nephrite jade, the same that they find in China, New Zealand, Russia (there are also numerous other locations) Where the jade from Burma is Jadeite which is also found in Guatemala.

More information is on our website.

  • I believe Cassiar Jade Company of the same area is now the largest producer and exporter of jade.

  • @stuckindease Jade West has hired Cassiar to mine our Kutcho Creek deposit outside of Dease Lake. Currently Kirk is mining up at Ogden mine this year for the first entire season in 20 years, we still own the jade that comes out of Kutcho.

  • Interesting never realized where it came from.

  • Just beautiful carvings, and a favourite color of mine.

  • Great BC company here - known about you guys 10 yrs plus. Keep mining in BC great post.

My father has been hunting way at the back end of Boulder Road 15 yrs back or so, told me about you guys. What a trek, incredible. The photos on his office wall he had to make these ATV rafts and rope the things across the creeks. Three guys, 3 1/2 days or so. What a hunting trip.

We are involved with a placer operation in Toodoggone area for 8 years now, its been very good. Thanks for the Video!

  • @RainAngel111 The green you see at the mine site is a weathered serpentine. In these locations, the Jade is found as lenses and veins where mafics are in contact with carbonate-rich sediment.

  • the hills really are green :D

  • I thought this was awesome! Thanks for posting! Very cool.
