Taking live dance music to elevated realms, one of the mainstays on the DFA records roster The Juan Maclean set the stage alight with tight drumming, effect manipulation, vocal duets and some of the most skilful Theremin wailing the world’s audiences have ever witnessed. John, Nancy, Nick and Jerry discuss the origins of their music, the inner workings of the DFA label and their opinion on dance music in the live performance situation. Their performance was documented at Club Capitol on the 14th of June, 2008 in support of Cut Copy. Their new album ‘The Future Will Come’ is due early next year.
