Here you'll find an overview of the 3D texture tool BodyPaint 3D, which is used for texturing 3D models in films and games such as Spider-Man 3, The Incredible Hulk and The Outsider. Works with 3ds max, CINEMA 4D, LightWave, Maya, SoftImage XSI and more.

  • these utube tuts are OK but when you start to access drop down menus and such it gets really hard to follow. do you have a website where we can follow propper tutorials that have a little better res? have watched most of the utube stuff and you seem to really know what you're doing.

  • We're now doing our new tutorials in HD so they should now be close to pristine :) Pls check out the latest ones posted today.

  • Can this be use to paint over texture Seams?

  • Yes :-) You use projection paint mode and then BodyPaint 3D works out how to warp what you paint to fit your UVs / texture maps nicely.

  • How do you unwrap a model?

  • There's several ways to do that. Fastest is run the paint setup wizard and that'll get your model ready to paint. Play with the various settings to get a reasonable map....

  • That's great. thanks for getting back to me. More on bodypaint please. Also I'm matchmoving in a student project and need to take the shadow but NOT the plane into AE. whats the best method? Also how do I create convincing earth with animated clouds. Need a space ship in, close, orbit. Making a Si-Fi. tried Pyrocluster but it doesn't seem up to the job. always looks like cartoon clouds or smoke. haven't seen anyone elses attempt anywhere on the net that looks good either.

    thanks
